Questions
Where do these leadership moves come from?
From public announcements and filings: companies' own press releases and newsrooms, SEC 8-K filings (Item 5.02 covers officer appointments and departures) and reputable news. Every move links to its source. A daily agent reads new 8-K filings and news, and anything it finds is marked Unverified until checked by hand.
Which roles are tracked?
Chief executives and founders, CTOs and CIOs, Chief AI, Data, Data and AI (or Analytics) Officers, chief scientists and heads of AI, data, machine learning and research, plus CFOs and Chief Product Officers at public companies, at the tech companies and AI labs in the companies.fru.dev registry and at other companies with a data or AI move.
Where does the list of current leaders come from?
Each seat has one source, shown next to it: the company's own leadership or team page, the executive officers table of its latest SEC 10-K or proxy, an 8-K or press release, a news story, its Y Combinator page, or the key people its Wikipedia article cites and the CEO, founder and role statements on Wikidata. Every day a slice of these sources is re-read, the oldest first, and new ones are added as they are found; a holder who is replaced is kept, with an end date.
Why does a move say why, and where does that come from?
The one-line reason is only what the source itself says: the company's stated remit for the role or the reason it gave. Nothing is inferred. When the source gives no reason, the line is left out.
How do I find who runs data or AI at a company?
Type the company into "Who runs data at" on the home page, or open its company page: it lists the current holder of each data and AI seat this site knows about, with the full history of arrivals and departures below.
Are the photos and LinkedIn links official?
No photos are copied from LinkedIn or other sites; people show as initials unless a company offers an official press headshot. A LinkedIn link appears only when the source or the company names it.
Something is wrong or missing. How do I fix it?
Every move, person and company page has Suggest a correction. Each suggestion is checked against a source before anything changes.
